LEGION OF DORN (in pink?)

Welcome Brothers and Sisters, I’m James, an average closet Warhammer Nerd who has been drawn back into the Warhammer Universe by a Slaaneshi Fiend (friend) I thought I had left the Grim Dark Future behind me in the late 90’s….but it looks like I am back. Join me on my journey back to social and tournament 40K gaming.

ITS HAPPENING.

But not how I imagined it would... My beloved fists are on the relentless march to being fully painted. They’ve been built, primed, and in a rather surprising step - undercoated..

Pink.

PINK

Why are my noble Fists pink you might ask?

Turns out that to get a vibrant shadow colour and bright yellow - pink is the undercoat of choice. It’s cool learning about the process. Glad I don’'t have to do it though haha. Now, after that rather unnerving stage, all of my magnificent warriors received the blessing of a wonderful stoic Imperial Fist Yellow. Even Rogal Dorn might crack a momentary smile if he saw this progress in the name of the Emperor!!

Here’s the latest sneak peak:

Steve at Blasted miniatures has been great at keeping me updated with the progress. Seeing the pictures and discussing the commission has made me feel part of the process, and honestly if you don’'t have time or the skill (I have the skill of course, just not the time) then I cannot recommend getting your army Commission painted enough. Be careful who you go with - and of course I am fairly biased here - but pick the right artist or studio and, unlike so many Heretics, you will not regret your choices.

So, obviously these are at an early stage and still need a bunch more steps until they are fit for the merciless battlefields of the M41, but it’s got be buzzing like an imperial cherub around the golden throne. So much so…

I’m already looking at entering yet another big UKTC GT in December lol…

I’m also going to need to find a local hobby group where I can get involved and play some games and meet some cool new nerds. If you’re anywhere in the South Coast - and know of a good group. Let me know!

ITS YELLOW! (over pink - who knew)

The Legion of (pink underneath) Dorn will be sweeping across tabletops near you soon!!

In an attempt to settle my nerves while I await more updates from Blasted, I’ve been immersing myself in the 40K world and thought about White Dwarf magazine, a few people I spoke with say they still buy the odd copy and some subscribe so I thought I’d go for it and have taken out a quarterly subscription. I remember being really excited each month waiting for the new release and would save the battle report to read last. My first copy won’t arrive until next month so I thought I’d treat myself to this months.

I walked into the supermarket excited at the idea of buying White Dwarf again, the same excitement I felt going to buy the codex.

But……It turned out to be a bit of a Falling Down moment, like Michael Douglas who looked at the display photo of his burger, it was plump, juicy, 3 inches thick and then he gets handed some lame squished sad looking thing, I picked up the magazine and it was thin and limp. Maybe it’s rose tinted spectacles but I remember White Dwarf being thick and juicy and having lots to read inside. I pretty much read the thing in a few minutes in the shop. I’ve got to say I was disappointed, I know lots of content is on the world wide web now but there wasn’t even a battle report!!! Fingers crossed this was a slow month.

WHITE DWARF DISAPPOINTMENT

They dont make them like this anymore… (look at the price too!!)
